Darrell (They Don't Shoot Horses and Shattered Sanctuary) is a tall, broad shouldered, thirty-year-old East-Texan with an accent you can walk across.   He was a bareback rider and calf roper in college. Later he roped and steer wrestled for the money to purchase a small ranch where he could raise quarter horses.   He followed Warren, his roping partner back to Cold Springs where three years later he bought a ranch next to his best friend.  Darrell married a barrel racer on the rodeo circuit but that terminated after four months when she left him for a bull rider.  All the hard work, pain of rodeoing and short-term marriage has not dimmed his positive, laid back attitude.  His blatant flirting and southern accent makes him the favorite with women from eight to eighty.
